Sunset Picnic
Here are the pictures from last Friday's sunset picnic. The Seacliff sunset picnic is really my favorite thing to do in the summer. All you need is some good company, a bottle of something bubbly, something to munch, and then just settle down to enjoy. I'm planning another sunset picnic for tomorrow, and I really hope the weather co-operates.

Southampton
On our way to Montauk we stopped at Southampton to ogle on the amazing mansions. I didn't actually take any pictures of the most opulent houses, because I was afraid that if we stopped the car, some invisible security agent was going to come and confiscate my camera... after all, the roads we drove on were not even marked on the map (I guess money can buy you seclusion, and block those google map satellites).
These houses were nice, but definitely on the smaller side.
The most famous address in Southampton.
These look like the roses in Finland.
The beach was beautiful white sand. I guess it still is ;-)
But forget about actually going on the beach unless you live close-by.
Or like my hubby so eloquently put it "they're trying to tell any poor f*****r to stay the f*** out".
When I win the lotto, I know where my beach house will be. (in Montauk!)

Morgan Park
John Pierpont Morgan, the financier who founded J.P. Morgan, which has since morphed into the financial giant JP Morgan Chase, built the Morgan Park in Glen Cove, Long Island's north shore, to honor his wife's memory after she passed away in 1926. Long Island is full of beautiful scenic waterfront spots, but this park is definitely one of the best. I love going there, and we do, year round, but of course the beach is at its loveliest in the summer.

Life's a Beach
I have to post these beach picnic pictures too, if only so that I can remind myself of these good times when it gets chilly, rainy and miserable outside... This was our picnic last Friday, probably the last sunset picnic of the year. The band was playing at the Seacliff beach again, the whole family was together, and life was good.

Winter Day on the Beach
I love the beach any time of the year. There is something so relaxing and meditative in the water view. I would just LOVE to live on the water so that I could see it every day, first thing waking up, and last thing when going to bed...
