On Saturday we had a party; some 40 people, big and small, at our house, to celebrate my little one's second birthday. It's SO MUCH WORK to throw home parties, but I have never been a fan of those kids' parties held in party places, they're just so impersonal. And anyway, we like to entertain and hadn't had a big party for a while so this was kind of overdue...
Anyhow, yesterday was spent prepping and partying, first guests arrived at 2:30 pm, and last guests left at midnight (it's always a good sign when your guests don't want to leave), and today was spent cleaning up and recovering, makeupless, in a comfort outfit of yoga pants and a sweater..
The weekend's tally:
Party for 40 guests - hundreds of dollars
The smile on the birthday girl's face - priceless!
